Hepatitis B Vaccine (3 doses) (age≥16)
Hepatitis B Vaccine (3 doses) (age≥16)

Hepatitis B is a type of hepatitis and is caused by the Hepatitis B virus. It is estimated that about 8% of the Hong Kong population are carriers. The hepatitis B virus is present in blood and body fluids such as saliva, semen, vaginal secretion, other body secretions and mother-to-baby transmission.

An estimated 25% of hepatitis B carriers will progress to chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis or liver cancer.

The Hong Kong Government provides free immunisation to newborns, but the antibody level may decrease over time. If the blood test results show that you do not have 'hepatitis B antigen' and inadequate 'hepatitis B antibody in your body, you can consider having a vaccine injection. You can consult a doctor for advice before getting the vaccine.
